Garfield 9; Streetsboro 1 @ Streetsboro.

The Garfield boys' played their second road game of the season at Streetsboro on Tuesday 9/02/14. The G-Men scored first when seniors Mason Maddox and Noah Reider teamed up to get the ball to senior Ante Dejanovic, who made a nice shot with 37:51 left in the 1st half. Streetsboro tied the score on a chip shot with 32:54 left in the half. The G-Men got rolling with 24:32 left in the first half when Mason Maddox sent a through ball to Noah Reider and he drilled the shot from the top of the box. Less than three minutes later Ante Dejanovic scored on a cross from freshman Zach Gorby and it was 3 to 1 with 21:36 left in the first half. Then at the 18:52 mark, Zach Gorby scored a left-footed goal on a throw-in from Noah Reider.  Mason Maddox then sent a beautiful Corner Kick into the box that senior Chad Curry headed into the goal with 11:39 left in the half. The 1st half ended with the G-Men up 5 to 1.

The 2nd half started out with Garfield controlling the ball until Ante Dejanovic sent a ball to Noah Reider that he put past the goalie with 27:33 left in the game. Freshman Simon Varner tapped the ball to Noah Reider who completed his second hat trick of the season (3 goals in a game) with 19:48 left.  Junior Nate Lake assisted junior Noah Heim with13:02 on a great soccer play. Then Ante Dejanovic sent a deep Free Kick that Chad Curry gathered up in stride and put in the net to round out the scoring with 9:52 left in the game. Final score: Garfield 9 and Streetsboro 1. The G-Men had 14 shots on goal to Streetsboro's 3. Goalie Nick Crawford had 2 saves. Garfield is now 3-0 in the PTC and 3-1-1 overall.
